I interviewed Lena (for radio) at the Playhouse Theatre in Edinburgh back in 1980. I got the impression that she was bit of a lost soul. At the time I felt she needed a big hug, and to be told that she was loved. Such an exceptional talent. R.I.P. Lena. You're missed.

I live in Australia and was not even aware of her until I read a quote by Bonnie Langford about 4 weeks ago in which she basically said that people talk about the tragedy but in essence she was all about her singing and what a wonderful songer she was. So I looked Lena up on RUclips . What an amazing voice and passion in each song. You know she really feels what she is singing. I then read her story and cried as I got to the end. Lena is definitely on my play list now. Another beautiful person gone before her time.

Gives me goosebumps. Her talent was so very extraordinary but instead of thrusting her into the limelight with all it’s pressures, maybe she’d have been happier on the tiny, remote Scottish island she called home.

Lena Zavaroni was singing about her own struggles in her life, in this song 🎵 & you felt that was coming, through. Very dramatic like Shirley Bassey she not only sang but she was dramatic alongside it, a great tragedy like Janis Joplin, & Amy Winehouse, they left us too soon.

My mom loved her , great voice she would be about 60 years old today & would still have her her great voice 🙏
